I wasn't going to review after our visit in january however since seeing a few others had similar experiences thought it best to share. I was in rarotonga with my 12 year old son and we went out with moko twice. The first day for gamefishing, when we caught some very tasty wahoo. the second day for some reef fishing,... More

Trip was ok but we found him a bit grumpy. We were all new to game fishing and he said he would coach us when we hook up. This pretty much involved him just yelling at the person . He seams more focused on getting you to catch fish for him to sell at his cafe rather than you having... More

This was one of the scariest days of my life. I am an experienced fisherman from NZ and I am used to rough conditions which I do not mind, however there is a point where things get wreckless - and on the day that we went out he should have cancelled. I found out when I returned that 7m swells... More

This is a "must do" if you are in Rarotonga. It was a thoroughily entertaining day. We actually went out on the boat under an overcast sky but it did not detract from the day whatsoever. The water was still warm and the snorkelling was great and the guys were very entertaining and knowledgable. They made everyone feel welcome, relaxed... More

He is the legend when it comes to charter fishing in the Cook Islands. But I must say It is a 'Boy's Sport' Hauling in a giant Wahoo or Tuna is not something I could have done !! Plus the toilet facilities are zip zero for girls, other than hanging over the back which is not what I was going... More

Over nighted in Raro, so had one 'fresh off the boat" fish sandwich at Jills's Avana Mooring Cafe, a must do, even the Air NZ crew suggested the lunch! Moko had just caught 2 yellow fin tuna, so I'm coming back for these. Out to Aitutaki for the Bonefish, for 8 days, stunning. Back to Raro, and had 2 days... More

We recently went fishing with Capt Moko, he was fantastic, a great local guy with lots of knowledge of fishing and how to handle the conditions, if there is fish out there Moko is your man, when you get back with your catch he evens cooks up a storm for you, anything from a famous sandwich or Ika Mata, which... Captain Moko and his wife Jill are the best of people! We felt so looked after and really enjoyed our days experience out fishing with him! We letf at 6am, had two hook ups and was sitting around the bbq table by 8am with two prize fish....and 26kg and 36kg Yellowfin Tuna. We call the trip short due to the... More

It was only the Captain and I on board and as I am an experienced fisho we were able to share many stories and have a laugh. I ended up driving the boat for most of our trip while he prepared various rigs, baits and set the spread etc which was perfectly fine by me. The trip was supposed to... More
