We passed Parque Central several times as we walked around in the central shopping district. When we were there there were many people relaxing and walking through and around the park. Suggestion for all visitors is to be very aware of your possessions when visiting San Jose.Fuerza Publica police are quite visible all over the downtown area these days; yay! More

This is a very nice park where you can relax and people watch. Be sure to note the many statues in the area. Also if your craving for your familiar restaurants back home....their here! More

Central Park (Parque Central) is in downtown San Jose along Central Avenue. It is bordered by the Metropolitan Cathedral. The park occupies 1 square block of the city and is dotted with attractive trees and features a large pavilion that looks oddly out of place (it was a ‘’gift’’ from Nicaragua).
