Being old Mexico hands, we found shopping for folk art a rather dismal experience in Costa Rica, but we did find this shop in Fortuna (gateway to the Arenal Volcano & Lake Arenal). Pottery, wood sculpture, and even a few rather interesting textiles can be found there at reasonable prices, so wait 'til you get there to do your shopping...
