2 1/2 hours of exhilaration moving from one platform to another high in the treetops of the Monteverde Cloud Forest. One of the 15 zip lines was over a kilometer in length. Our zip lines were truly smoking! This is not only for young adults. The four people in our group were all in our late 50s and 60s and...

Bring along a local guide and some comfortable shoes. You may also want to bring a good digital camera to document this beautiful place.
It was surreal, saw gorgeous waterfalls, recommend you take a guide as they can tell you about the fauna & wildlife, plenty of frogs as wet atmosphere. Wear hiking boots,or art least sneakers, especially if doing a twilight tour as quite damp underfoot & to avoid ankle strain.High altitide can make you feel unfit as very steep in parts of the forest & take...

Beautiful! The landscape is everything you would expect it to be.. the flora and fauna is spectacular... came out with some amazing photos and memories. Did the hanging bridges and not the zip lines.. children in tow.... but still the view from the hanging bridges was fantastic. You should do the zip lining if you can cause it looks amazing...

The drive to the mountain had the most beautiful sights of mountains, valleys, and cloud forest! This was more impressive that the actual rain forest. We were here on our own - no tours were available at the time we were there. There was rain in the forest all of the time. We saw minimal animals, and were hoping for...

when in costa rica one should visit this area. tour guides are quite knowledgable and the hike is interesting. lots of great views, but don't expect to see alot of wildlife -- they are trying to stay alive (and hidden).
So many people talk about how they didn't see animals, but we hired Andy from the U.S. before we left, and he planned our trip with us and helped us every step of the way! Our night hike was the best. There are so many things to do in Monteverde, and it's hard to know which ones to do, but...

This is my second visit and it was as great as the first time several years ago.
Gorgeous place and lots of birds! Disappointed we didn't get to see more variety of animals but hey you can't make an appointment with the animals! Hah! Overall gorgeous place, and cheap souvenirs (compared to the beach areas). If we had to do the trip again, we probably would recommend staying at Arenal longer rather than trekking down to Monteverde.
