The flora and fauna around Arenal Volcano is inspiring! The volcano is an incredible sight. While in Costa Rica, if at all possible, you should visit one of the volcanic national parks. Arenal is among the most beautiful I have seen. The fact that the clouds cleared and we were able to see the summit and the activity was incredible. More

Cloud forests and drive around lake are very scenic. But no volcanic action in at least last year. As you are forewarned, the ride is very slow. And long sections into & out of Santa Elena are unpaved. More

Was so nice to see. Make sure you take jacket it can be cold. Try and stay for the dome to bulge then collapse. I didn't see it but was told very awesome if your are into geology. More
