WOW! This is an amazing tour! Ms. Shirley Cherry was our Tour Director. What a fine lady and brilliant woman! When you go to the Dexter Parsonage Museum, you are given a tour of the Martin Luther King Home and an education by Ms. Cherry! We even got homework! As you drive up you park at the rear of the... The house next door is the visitor center and is where to start the visit. There is free parking in the rear of the center. We were warmly welcomed; in fact, the people at the center made us feel that they were really glad to have us visit. On this January afternoon we were the only ones there. We started... More

Let me start off by saying...if you are in the Montgomery area, this is a MUST SEE! This tour seriously changed my life. We've all read about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr in our history books in school, but to see where he lived and had that epiphany in the kitchen that changed everything was absolutely amazing and such a... This tour was about a hour and well worth it. Our tour guide was a member of King's church during the time he was pastor and was very knowledgable. The tour of the home was a humbling experience and we highly recommend it. A must see More

This was a great experience. You enter in gift shop and then begin with seeing video of Rev. King and others involved in civil rights movement in this building. Then you visit the home place which is located right next door. Our tour guide, Mrs. Foley was wonderful in explaining details and in answering any questions we had, There is... More

So much History. A must see. The guides do a great job and alot of original furnishings. Not crowded at all when we went, had a personal tour. We saw the Church also, but the Home is the one you do not want to miss. More

We recently spent the weekend in Montgomery and visited the MLK Jr. home (known as the Dexter Parsonage). Hundreds of thousands of dollars were spent restoring the 1912 home, garden, and the administrative office next door. In the office's museum area, the tour guide explains the history of the house and shows you the many photgraphs, magazine covers, and newspaper... More
