it's important to walk into this small church where you may attend a service in English. This historical landmark building is beautiful yet simple. Please remember to show respect by not taking photos as people are praying. Also if you are wearing a hat, please remove it when entering the church.

Christ Church is the red church building located in the back of the small Dutch Square in the heart of Malacca. This is the oldest functioning Protestant church in Malaysia dating to the 18th century. As such, it is worth a few minutes of your time when visiting this part of the city center. The church is built in the... More

This church is located near the clock tower. We were there for only about ten minutes as there is not much to see inside this small establishment. In comparison to the Duomo in Italy and Sagrada Familia in Spain, this is hardly worth seeing. But it was lovely seeing a few people gathering together to pray.

You may not take pictures inside. There's a angry lady that guard the church. She will warn you not to take pictures of the church. It's different with other churches that I've ever visited. So be careful, don't make the lady angry to you.....

The church is very pretty to photograph and it was nice to see plaques up with information regarding the history and architecture of the building. Church was in service when we arrived and we could not go inside. Please note this is a functioning church with many different services throughout the week, so if you are wanting a tour indoors,... The church and the square have endured three centuries of onslaught, bombardment, plunder and pillage from successive dynasties. A very simple functional Church without any ornaments with a wooden Cross as altar. A lively place and the centre of attraction in Malacca.

We appreciated the written explanation of the history and the changing times of this famous church. The roof beams were spectacular and had no joins. It is still functioning as a place of worship. There was a sense of awe and reverence.

Best to go to this red Square is on Weekdays as on weekend will be full of Chinese people and looks like a market.

What you see is what you get. Interesting old church with that loverly "pink" colour. The whole square is quite interesting.
