The river is foul, with (conincidentally?) lots of the local public toilets right on the banks of the river - so you can imagine the smell. We decided to walk one way and enjoyed the history that was painted on the walls of the riverside buildings. This 45 minute round trip shows a different side of Melaka - we would not have known about the riverside cafes if we had not taken this tour. Interesting historic commentary one way.
