Nothing special in the beach but if you are in chennai it is one of the must go spots. its like ohh you were in chennai so did you goto marina beach .... oh no .... why? :) ..... lot of public, almost entire chennai is on the beach on weekend

This is nothing more than a long and filthy beach with absolutely no appeal whatsoever. There's a nice looking lighthouse in the south and some statues, but that's it. A taxi drive by the beach is more than enough, as it does not justify a proper visit.

Visited back after 10 years and was disheartened to see the beauty of the beach lessened by tourists and travelers. Refraining from making any negative comments, I'll just say its become too crowded for my tastes and is currently very poorly maintained. Though the beach is probably the largest in India, it fails to impress. Its quite pleasant to be there in the evenings, but the cleanliness etc leaves a lot to be desired. Sea food is near the beach itself, so one can enjoy evenings well.

Visited Marina Beach after a long time. It has changed a lot...for worse. Beach is like a huge open garbage bin...full of polythene bags, bottles, papers etc. seems Chennai is loosing its charm.

its a pleasure to stand in the marina beach..the most beautiful place in chennai absolutely mesmerizing during sunrise. avoid evening of weekends. though it is huge enough to contain the crowd the parking is jammed! its relatively cleaner than the rest of the beaches of chennai city!

The Mark of Chennai in terms of the popularity , but averagely maintained . Govt can do a lot in terms of organisation . Helpless as you can see but .... never miss to have a seater in this place
