A hot sunny day well compensated by the ease of entry and peaceful prayer. The view from the temple was quite soothing. We went on a Tuesday afternoon. The temple is open from 5ish in the morning to till about 7ish in the evening.

Mahalaxmi Temple (Marathi: महालक्ष्मी मंदिर) is one of the most famous temples of Mumbai situated on Bhulabhai Desai Road. It is dedicated to Mahalakshmi-the central deity of Devi Mahatmyam. Though the approach to the temple is flocked by shops, the temple gives me a tremendous sense of peace. It is located just a few metres away from the famous dargah... More

The security and cops are all in with the organised groups of thieves. They know and they will not help. The thieves are so clever. Great views of the dirty bay. Very strict security control and extremely busy. If you can withstand the crowd it is worth visiting. A colddrink at the restaurant will make up for the crowds

Very organised place of worship. Very ckean unlike most of the places of worshipion India. Locals are very much law abiding. You can have a special Puja for you and your family if you want in the mrning between 08 00 to 14 00. Prior appointment required.

Scenic view, divine and serene..not to miss when you are in Mumbai. Bags are not allowed inside the temple. Make sure you do not carry one.

This is very old temple of Mumbai and not to be missed, close to sea and overlooking Haji Ali. Sea access is restricted though
