It's very scenic and a great place to visit. It's in the midst of a deep jungle and can even spot elephants. But the stretch of road from Bandipur road to the top of the hill is just unmotorable. We had hired a taxi and we did have a flat tire (puncture). Hopefully the authorities will fix the road soon.... More

Hima refers to mist in Kannada. Go there in the morning time. Since it belongs to Bandipur forest area, there is a check post which permits vehicles only between 0830 to 1600 hours. If you are outside this window by 5 minutes, they will not allow. I went there with friends and actually saw a Wild Bison while climbing the... More

I went to this place thrice. 2 times in 2009 winter and once in 2011 summer. The ideal time to visit this place is before 8AM and in both my visits in 2009 I reached here by 6:30AM. I must say it was one of the most wonderful places I have ever seen during my travels. It was green, full... More

Located on the mysore ooty highway this small temple at about 1000 mts above sea level offers you one of the best views of the bandipur forests. A slightly adventurous short trek through the tall grass takes you to a point from where you stair down at the bandipur forests...elephants and bisons look up at you ...the cool breeze and... More

I have been here at least 5 times in the last 3 years. Best time to visit this place is around mid June when the monsoon season is at its peak. Temple and around it would be fully covered with clouds and it would be chilly and very windy. All the times I visited, people were allowed to loiter on... More

This is one beautiful hill which I have visited many times and every time in a different seasons and have found it differently beautiful. Good opportunities if you are a shutterbug. The temple is really old, with nice Krishna idol, calm and clean most of the times. If you reach here early in the morning you can spot elephants and... More

The temple is located on a very beautiful hillock with a lot of greenery around. The temple is very beautiful and the Lord Gopalaswamy i.e., Krishna is worth seeing and praying, You drive through green surroundings and the hillock has a beauty of its own. There is a forest guest house and you can enjoy the temple an surroundings. Enjoy... More

One believed to actually have snow this is probably the coldest place i have visited down south! Ever since they have restricted the entry time to teh ghat leading up you will miss the sunrises and early morning fog but don't let that put you off! Beautiful and soothing views of the surrounding hills and a cool breeze will take... More
