Like some of the other reviewers, had to see it from the car, not up close. Nice drive by as we also saw other India government buildings, monuments and statues. Smaller yet similar to Paris' Arc de Triomphe. Understand that in addition to being a war monument to those who sacrificed their lives in WWI it's also where the first...

Located near a small pond where people rent small boats. Nice area to be were you can feel a bit of nature but of course lot of cars around especially during rush hour.
Its best place in the evening. Lights and Jyoti make a perfect picturesque location. Names of all Jawans who sacrificed in world war are written on this gate wall. surroundings are very clean and cool. you can see Rashtrapati bhavan from India gate as its exact opposite to gate.
This is famous place to visit in the evening, this is memorial of Indian freedom fighters and solders. This is huge Gate Way of India(In Mumbai) like structure in Delhi located in the center just opposite to Rastrapati bhawan (Presidents House). This is place just like the any other public place where you can walk and fill relaxed.
The gates were closed and I was not allowed in, but the monument is still beautiful, even from a distance. The nights were beautiful. The monument was illuminated.
The shape is like Triumph in Paris but not as big as that and not as beautiful as that. It is good to see it while you are in car.
The only aspect that impressed me was the cheap prices of goods, and its proximity to tourist destinations, otherwise the crowd can make you mad.Close up of the bricks, you may see the names of the soldiers. Its a beautiful sceneic place. if your lucky you may see a band or orchestra playing there once...
We were on the tour bus and so could not stop when we passed this. however the bus driver timed it just right and we stopped at a red traffic light and were able to take pictures. It looks so much like the Arc de Triumphe in Paris - spooky! Worth a drive pass.
the location, the sheer enormity... a must visit in delhi. the superb structure is an ode to the gallant soldier. visit with family in the evening is a real treat.
