As an elephant sponsor with the DSWT, I had the chance to visit the "stockades" at Voi during my trip to Tsavo East. After the nursery in Nairobi, elephants spend some time here before being reintroduced to the wild. I am unsure as to why there are not more reviews of the DSWT centre in Voi, maybe most people visit the Nairobi sanctuary but having fostered an orphan a few months ago the trust were very helpful in arranging an evening visit to the Stockades to meet the orphans and see them get their night time feed. Sheldrick is an amazing organization trying to save baby elephants.We gave a contribution and adopted a baby elephant that was orphaned. Great experience visiting. More
