Mt Bromo is one of my dream destinations. So I decided to dragged the whole family (4 of us in total) to go. No regrets as we had wonderful and memorable time together. The sceneries and hotel were magnificent and the people (locals) were so kind and friendly! We were lucky to have an experienced guide from Metro City Holidays,... More

Waking up very, very early in the morning is not the pleasantest thing to do during vacation. But it pays off to see the beautiful, amazing and picturesque landscape or Tengger-Semeru caldera from Mt. Penanjakan. It's really cold in the morning but as the sun rises, it warms the day nicely. I visited Mt. Bromo twist where my first trip was... More

The Mt Bromo area is volcano's inside of an already large caldera that's full of a sea of sand and in some parts what is considered a savannah and in the background is Mt. Semeru. There are two viepoints on Mt Pananjakan from which to view the Mt Bromo area. I stayed at Java Banana Hotel which is in a... More

Wonderful place to visit, with really spectacular scenery both in the crater and on the way to it. We did the trip in 'minimum time' from Probelinggo train station by renting a car and driver - if you do it this way make sure the car that picks you up is a 4x4, otherwise you will need to hire a... The journey to and from takes you through some of the most stunning scenery you will see. And that's just for the start. Be warned, the journey involves a great amount of bone-jarring rattling in a 30-year old Toyota, and plenty of climbing, but ... the view, the experience is well worth the effort. You must remember that this volcano... More

We visited Bromo as part of Geotrek Indonesia interpretive trip to Trowulan (the last site of Mojopahit Kingdom), the Sidoardjo Mud Volcano and the Bromo. The interpretive trip was a revelation since it showed how the ups and downs of civilization in East Java in particular and Indonesia in general by continuously dealing with geological disaster, not only volcanoes, faults,... Amazing to stand on the rim of an active volcano. The steps to the top are steep but with stops you can beat the altitude. More

I went to Bromo from Surabaya town during midnight. Arrived Bromo at 3am in the morning. It was very cold. Enjoyed the sunrise (around 4.30am) at Pananjakan 2. Then we continue our journey to Bromo using jeep (additional charges apply). The journey to Bromo from Pananjakan is about 20-30minutes, due to road condition was very bad but I love it.... More
