Excellent experience, playing in the water with the elephants definitely the highlight, so much fun! Ive ridden an an elephant before on a seat and riding bareback at thoms is soo much better and for the elephants too. In terms of welfare the elephants were very well trained and seemed very happy to me and I never saw the trainer... More

Went to Thom's through recommendation of our hostel in Pai. It's a lovely camp, especially if you go for the River tour. We did the 2 hour (forest and river) tour and loved every bit of it. The less good part about ir is the time spent between the forest and the river, going through the main road for about... More

I understand the very variable reviews on this attraction. We were on the 2 hour trip which basically went around a field and down the road to the Pai river, then back to a hot tub. The elephants are treated in the traditional way, which by western standards is quite cruel. We talked to Australian vet students who pointed out... More

Thailand was the main destiny of our honeymoon. We had recommendations for Pai, especially for the chance to hang around with elephants. I did some research and found Thom's Elephant Camp. I arranged with Thom the booking via e-mail. We wanted to spend 3 days training as Mahouts (elephant trainers) and finish our journey there with a wedding party. It... More

Our family had a fabulous few days with the elephants at Thom's elephant camp. We rode the elephants, swam with them and even learnt how to talk to them. we stayed in the cabins for 3 nights which was perfect. The staff are very friendly and professional. Just make sure your DVD is ok before you leave, we tried to... More

Thom really takes care of her elephants! I suggest you take the 3 hour tour: the first part is in the forest and then down to the river when is the funniest and most refreshing part. Elephants love to splash around and you'll get completely wet by showers and plunges in the river. You ride the elephants without seats. Thumbs... More

The first time we have been at Thom's Elephant Camp was in 2008 - we did a 2,5 days mahout training. After this was such an amazing time we decided in October 2011 to visit Thom's Camp again! We had 3 days on which we did a kind of "mix it all": mahout training, sightseeing around Pai and just relaxing.... More

I really wanted an elephant ride whilst on my south east Asia travels but didnt have time in Chiang mai so decided to fit it in when in Pai. I chose Thoms and we rented a motorbike to get up there, easy enough drive. We chose the hour long ride (1000tb). There are ledges which i assumed you climbed up... More
