Reachable by car , over 1 hour , by boat or by bus this destination is for ruin lovers. Hardly any of the historic building are intact , a stroll amongst them gives you a good idea of how the city may have been laid out. Must visit if you have atleast 4 days in Bangkok. If you have less... More

Not only ruins, but the trace of the ancient and beautiful culture present in Thailand. Unfortunately lot of thai don't know the history behind it, and don't really appreciate this wonderfull track log of culture. Lot of sites to visit, some free, some other with a fee. Unfortunately, flood had even damaged more the sites recently, and some site are... More

Worth a visit to tick off the 'must see' list. Sunset is a good time to go & the tuk tuk tour we did was great - our driver was very good. More

The old ruins were poor and crumbling with lousy maintenance from the authorities and the signages and guidance was poor. I feel a lot more can be done about this place and I guess the local authorities just take for granted the popularity of this place. I would still recommend this place for a day visit from Bangkok but nevertheless... More

Although Ayutthaya is outside Bangkok, I would recommend it to tourists coming to Bangkok, because it was one of two things that made our Bangkok trip memorable (the other one being the Muay Thai matches at Luminee Stadium). The ancient city ruins were just fantastic to see, absorb & photograph, especially the mysterious Buddha head caught in tree roots. Our... More

We were so pleased at our trip to Ayuthaya. I'm not sure if it was due to flood damage, but the tourist attractions and ruins were all almost empty of tourists, and they weren't charging the usual fees as entry to the ruins. We were so pleasantly surprised at the area and would recommend a trip here to anyone. More
