There are only two tombs open to visitors - on one you can clearly see the Graeco-Roman features of the deceased! Climb to the top of the mountain for great views of the oasis, particularly at sunset.

The Roman tombs gave us a real sense of the life the Romans led in Siwa. You can see how they adapted Egyptian motifs to Roman customs and vice-versa. People in Egypt live with their history constantly, and these tombs give some insight into one stage of that history. And, there are great views from the mountain.
