Very worth visiting. Much cleaner, and free of tourist hordes that plague Dubrovnik. Would definitely visit Korcula again. Don't bother getting cocktails at the top of the castle wall, they are twice the price as anywhere else. Nearby Orebic, across the sea, 15 mins by ferry, is also very worth a visit and accommodation is much much cheaper, making a... More

Korcula was probably our favorite destination out of a two week trip between Dubrovnik, Korcula, Hvar, Split, and Zadar. Old-world European architecture, tropical breezes, and a laid-back island culture. The Old City is the center of all of this and provides an excellent place to come back to after a day spent on the beach or island hopping in a... More

This again should deserve a stay for a few days or a lifetime. We had only a few hours but enough to see how friendly the Croatian people are. I am used to take tests to see if the smile is genuine. I have been noisily called "my friend" many times enough to appreciate a silent acceptance which I hereby... More

Called in whilst on a Med cruise on Cunard Queen Victoria. No cruise terminal, thankfully, so came ashore by tender. Beautiful old walled town, with interesting glimpses down side streets, and a picturesque quayside. Despite the numbers going ashore, it did not seem crowded. The view of the town as we sailed away was breathtaking. Definitely somewhere to which we... More

This is a beautiful city with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. The winding streets are a joy to wander round. Marco Polo's house is worth a visit. More

Having visited Dubrovnik a few days before Korcula old town is almost like a miniature version. It's set out almost like a fish bone skeleton with one main street and tiny streets running off. The numerous churches are well worth a look. THe new town around the outside has some good shops and restaurants too. There are plenty of restaurants...... More

If you like peace and quiet, crystal clear water and to step back in time then a day trip to Vrnik is a great day out from Korcula. A water taxi from the old harbour will extend their regular trip to Badija to drop you on Vrnik. The Taxis run every half hour (ish) and cost 50Kn pp return. We... More
