Lugu lake - Lige Check the forecast and if there's any indication of rain - don't come! There are only outside activities here and nothing to do if it's raining. Cons: Do yourself a favour and don't come over a Chinese holiday. It's not that there are that many people its just that the prices for everything will increase by... More

We stayed at Lugu Hu for 2 nights in April 2013 and wanted to share our experience from a western tourist’s point of view. We caught a bus from the Lijiang bus terminal just south of the old town. It cost 178 yuan for 2 people and took 5-6 hours including a needless toilet stop 1 hour in, a lunch... More

Lugu lake is a beautiful place, definately worth a visit to escape crowds of Lijiang. If you are going there, stay at least 2 nights, otherwise the trip is too long and the stay is too short. We have stayed in Lige village, wich is very beautiful and calm, and more expensive then Loushui, but I liked Loushui more. It... More

After a 5 hour bus ride through mountain passes and switchback narrow mountain roads, the view of the lake was spectacular. There are many places to stay, but the hotels and guesthouses on the peninsula were very nice and quiet with grew views of the lake. The 2 hour wooden boat ride was interesting. Hiking is available around the lake.... More

The drive to the lake was definitely what made our trip; the scenery around the area is stunning! If you can, hire a car and a driver and do an overnight trip. While you're there make sure to catch sunrise (or at least sunset) over the lake. While we were there it looked like some fairly major development was starting,... More

Im surprised its no 1 in Lijiang, its so far from the town, and so off the beaten track! But I enjoyed it very much! very big mistake for us was going by car to Xichang to catch there a train to Emeishan. DON'T DO IT!!! The road took us 21 hours - because of construction works it was blocked... More

this is a beautiful place full of culture and beauty of nature. To learn Mosuo oddities and to watch the show-<love song of flower house>. I loved the show very much. This trip start from Lijiang, takes 2 to 3 days. You can try local food as well.

we went for horse riding but were unwilling to pay £30 odd pounds for an hour riding on horses that are obviously looked after but there will not be any prizes for the standard of care given or £15 to go in a boat for an hour on the lake.

Last weekend, my best firend and I has been travelling in marvelous Lugu lake. It was just like a dream came true. The sun was shining, the lake turned to be colorful, and the Mosuo people were of great hospitality. We reached there at 3pm the first day, my dear friend Chalie leaded us to a wonderful inn that we... More
