Congratulations! You are finally getting outside of the east coast cities! Jiuzhaigou Valley is not to be missed. I would advise taking a plane not a bus from Chengdu. Extremely well maintained National Park. Get there early and leave late. Pack a lunch and you can see the park in one full day, if you are in above average physical... More

I visited the park in March 2013 which was the low season. The entrance fee was only half the normal rate but I soon realised why when I entered the park. Since its the dry season, a few of the areas and walking trails were closed to prevent forest fires. I can understand the decision and was happy that they... More

I visited Jiuzhaogou twice, first time was 13 years ago during autumn and latest one is in Spring, I am glad to see it is still as stunning as 13 years ago, and overall service and arrangement are improved so much, especially the restaurant and toilet, the green bus are much more professional nowadays and more frequent. Only cons is... More

If you have the time, take the short flight from Chengdu to visit this national park. The area is remote and high, the airport is around 11,500 ft, but that is what has kept it unspoiled and pristine. The park is Y-shaped with two river valleys joining together and the entrance fee includes shuttle bus service along both branches. Concentrate... More

A group of 4 of us just came back from Jiuzhaigou & Chengdu. Amazing place even in spring time. Most of us played the snow for the first time. We stayed at the Airport First Class Business Hotel at Chengdu about 5 mins drive from the airport by Taxi which the meter came to about RMB17. Clean & affordable place... More

--During the peak period the park opens at 7AM. We got there about 6:40, and were the first people in line. By the time the park opened at 7AM, there were maybe 20 people waiting to get in. According to the FB website for Jiuzhaigou, traffic is down significantly right now because of the earthquake in the area (which did... More

It is a gem of a park in Sichuan embedded in a remote region with lot of Tibetan culture. Pros: It is very beautiful and definitely worth the visit. By far the most beautiful park we've been to. It's well maintained and clean. There are many buses running - you never have to wait long if you want to take... More

Nice place. Must travel. Be remember go in autumn. Nice hotel in jiuzhai. If you like spicy dishes, you must like the Sichuan spicy hot pot. Don't miss Huanglong. Very beautiful too. There is restaurant inside the Jiuzhai. It is the only restaurant for you to lunch. If you are difficult in walking around the attractions, you can rent a... More

Everyone told me that this place is stunning so my expectations were high. I can say that it is all that and more. The site is excellently managed with wooden walkways and buses everywhere. It was clean with no litter anywhere and you are never far from a (clean) toilet. If you do more walking, you can avoid many of... More

We got to the park at 7:15 - bought tickets and immediately boarded a bus to Arrow Lake and Panda Lake - a friend had told us that there really wasn't much to see on that side past those two incredibly scenic spots. We took busses down between Arrow Lake and Five Flower Lake - it was a good idea... More
