It's across the street from the Civil Rights Institute and just good to see where those girls sacrificed their lives.
It was good to show our kids historical sites that they heard about and read about. The kids couldn't believe the artifacts that they were seeing.
We attended a Sunday service and were welcomed with open arms. The sermon and music were amazing and truly uplifting. In addition to this, 16th street baptist church was a big part of the civil rights movement and has lots of history. Well worth a visit!
I was very attracted to this Church. After studying the history and destruction that happened there, it was a very moving and heartfelt experience for me personally. We didn't go inside the church, but just seeing it and being near it was moving. I wish we had been able to go inside, but we only had time for site-seeing. Everyone should visit this landmark if you are in the area.
