Took a 2 hour bamboo raft down this stretch of river and it was very peacful,the only place that real bamboo rafts are operating as far as im aware.The other rafts on over stretchs of river are plastic pvc with engines but advertised as bamboo.

Lots of action on the river. Above Yangshuo a plethora of ferries ply their trade from Guilin. It seems that dockin time in Yangshuo is about 13.00 when the docks and lower town are turned to chaos.The river was in flood when we visited, which added a surreal touch to a dynamic setting.
