Our guide insisted we go to the second performance. There are two each evening each attracting audiences of 4000. We were impressed by the systems in place to assemble and move people to the seating in such as manner that the out going audience was avoided. We left this early as we thought the content slow, the effects mediocre, and the overall experience poor. I would not wait around in Yangshuo especially for this attraction, rather I would have headed back to Guilin if I had the time back. More

The show is impressive for the sheer number of performers but I was underwhelmed for what I expected it to be. I think I had either been played up too much or we were simply exhausted from having our day start at 6AM. It's probably worth a go nonetheless for the pure spectacle of it all. More

Nothing much related to the original Liu Sanjie musical from the 60s. The modern version of the sound and light musical is an abstract performance directed by the famous Zhang Yimou. The grandeur of the natural backdrop and the number of performers that involves 5 villages are the main draw to this show. More
