Really you can give this one a miss. It might have helped if we could have understood the commentary but I don't think so.

This is a very contrived setting catering to the busloads of tourists. As you ride a boat through the area you come onto scenes similar to what you might see at Disneyland. Props, fake animals, actors pretending to be native warriors, etc. If you like to be "entertained", that is fine, but if you want to learn about the culture...

When we went we did not fully understand what it was all about.
It's some sort of museum, which is located at a beautifull spot. You'll partially ride a boat, through a cave, and partial walk through some ancient-style houses and get to know more about the local minorities culture. it was ok, but also crowded with tourists.

Our tour guide recommended this place and since we thought it is about minorities we agreed to it on the itinerary.
You take a boat trip and the minorities people will show up along the river when you pass by. It has a very artificial feel to it and it is just "chinese kitsch". It's really just to get your...

Great scenery and lots to see, including local dancers. Boat trip is included which was nice. A bit too much on sale to buy at inflated prices, buy same thing outside for a third of the cost.

It appears minority people from other areas were shipped in to make this place work.
It appeared too commercialised and didn't really capture the essence of the locale which is the scenery.

The issue here is whether combining natural scenery and reenactment of regional minority cultures can be compatible with each other, or with the expectation of foreign visitors.
For a ticket price of YMB $70,...

We thought this would be nice to see, but it was very very disappointing. Indeed like another tripadvisor comment says: just like Disney.
Do go there, waste of money and time.

Our local personal Chinese tour guide recommended this as a worthwhile place to visit. It is a Chinese Theme Park to showcase some ethnic minorities, mainly the Tong people, and some Chinese history. It is a bit Disney-like in that you sit in a boat and tour around a lake past some performers doing various performances on different stages. A...
