The owner of our B&B recommended this museum, and I am so glad he did. The visual art exhibitions showcased Brazilian artists in really well-organized, beautifully arranged galleries. It was great to discover these artists, and I would certainly go back when visiting again. Best of all, admission was free. There's also a cafe, book shop, and post office on... More

I liked the feeling of old fashioned building that reminded me the old colonial past, and the air conditioning. Very quiet and pleasant tospend half an hour if you happen to be in the centre of Rio. I had a leisurely time visiting the book shop I disliked the lack of chairs and benches to sit.

It is a beautiful building that is worth a visit no matter what the current exhibition is. On the top floor is a permanent exhibition about banking and money in Brazil. Usually the art exhibitions are top class.

This is usually a part of our historic city tour. CCBB is a beautiful landmark building, former HQ of Bank of Brazil. There are 3 theatres and 2 cinemas in the building and constantly new exhibitions and interactive goings-on in the lobby. It i a popular space and has children activities on Saturdays and Sundays. The elevators are dated to... More

Downtown Rio de Janeiro. This place is a historic place. There you find exhibitions and a permanent exhibition of the origin of Bank of Brasil and the currency evolution.

Most people go to Rio to enjoy the sun and the beaches. Going to Rio in July is beautiful, and visiting downtown with its ancient churches, beautiful museums and fantastic restaurants is priceless. Walk down Primeiro de Março and see the old Cathedral, Banco do Brasil and the Paço Imperial. Take a look at Arco do Teles and have fried... More

During our time in Rio the Centro Cultural was the biggest disappointment in terms of attractions of all the sites we visited. It was nice to walk to the center of the building and enjoy the domes that make up the middle of the building. The architecture is impressive, especially considering that it was once a functioning bank. In modern... More

The building was very nice and exhibits just ok. Having read reviews before visiting I was expecting more...but was let down. Thought they could have put more effort into all exhibits. The building was beautiful...lots of people to provide security and information...but everything else was average to below average. We checked the block off sites to see in Rio at... More
