It is absolutely amazing that this lake stores enough water to supply the whole world TWELVE times over every day. Yet droughts persist in nations across the planet. This lake is so huge one has to witness it to believe it.

No need to make a special trip since you can see it from the top of the dam. I didn't hear or see anyone swimming in ot from the Brazil side of the dam, and didn't look anything special.
