I would suggest going during the week in the off season because it will be just you and the local surfers. It is a beautiful island with a lot of beautiful beaches, great walks and friendly locals. If you don't like bugs I would make sure you bring insect repellent. More

Very nice island, good food, nice beaches. There are no cars allowed our on the island and you need to carry your luggage on your own to your hotel (no paved ways!).
