Beautiful and very important gardens, many specimens there were used for the description of a plant. The exhibits are well done, there is a mini zoo and animals that roam free, like agoutis and sloths. It is clearly underfunded, but they do a lot with what little money they have. More

The Museum is not really the thing to see, but the park around is amazing. It's really a slice of forest in the middle of Belem, and it's a must-go if you're in town. Very nice zoo with many birds, big cats and turtles. Really a must see when you are in Belem and in a need for a relaxing stroll on sunday afternoon. More
