Located in heart of city, very easy to go walking, don´t miss to go there. We can see the trees, plants and animals of Amazon region spending 2 hours. Beautiful to take photos, it isn´t so big but wonderfull. More

This is a small slice of the Amazon jungle in the middle of downtown Belem. The 5 meter Black Caiman is probably worth it alone (entry fee is very modest at 2 reais). They also have a small pond of Victoria lilies and some magnificent trees. The aquarium and snake section is unfortunately currently closed and undergoing renovation. You should... More

It deserves a day just for that. Great place to get a glimpse of the Amazon diversity - both natural and cultural. More

Beautiful and very important gardens, many specimens there were used for the description of a plant. The exhibits are well done, there is a mini zoo and animals that roam free, like agoutis and sloths. It is clearly underfunded, but they do a lot with what little money they have. More

The Museum is not really the thing to see, but the park around is amazing. It's really a slice of forest in the middle of Belem, and it's a must-go if you're in town. You can see everything in about two hours, but try to go early in the morning, or be prepared to sweat a lot. Inside there's a... More

The museum itself was closed, on reform, and we only got to see a temporary exhibition about the Kayapó indians, but even with this it was a very pleasant afternoon. One of the oldest public gardens and federal research centers in Brazil, it keeps a whole block of native amazon jungle in the very center of Belém, with sloths hanging... More
