Great view under the final approach for National Airport's main runway, right on the Potomac River, and the screeching jet engines. Ample parking, toilets available, but no services. Hiking and biking paths also lead here.

Right off the end of Reagan National's main runway, this park's main appeal is watching the planes fly over (taking off or landing, depending on the prevailing winds) so low that it seems you could almost touch them. Great access to the bike path, too-- connect north to Roosevelt Island and the W&OD trail or south through the airport property...

If you enjoy watching planes take off and land, this is a great place to visit. They fly right over top of you. Very noisy!

This hidden gem is a great spot for watching planes go in and out of the airport and you are right on the river. This is THE BEST place to watch the DC fireworks on the 4th of July. Just be aware that the parking is minimal for events like that so you must get there very early. Also no...

I have many fond memories of going to this park, sitting in the grass and watching airplanes take off from National Airport. It's also an excellent place for a water break when you're biking.

Note: If you have children, it can be...

Where else can one go, have a picnic, stroll along the water, fish, watch a soccer or flag football game and oh yeah, watch planes take off and land?
Located next to Reagan National Airport (National to the natives) this is one place that allows the kid in most of us to be able to "ohhh and ahhhhhhhhh" out loud....
