Quite a walk from the Metro station. All the benches lights up at night so visit at night instead. It's open 24 hours. Have a quiet moment there. Portable toilets available. No food vending service at all. More

This is a beautifully designed memorial that speaks for itself. It honors those who died on that fateful day with great taste and symbolism. One can't help but reflect and allow their own life experiences to interpret these symbols for themselves. Sadly the reminder is of a very tragic event, yet this memorial on the site of such an active... More

This Memorial is not to be missed. It is a deeply moving reminder of what happened to the Pentagon on 9/11. Each person killed has a reflecting pool, a name, a date of birth, and a direction facing either the Pentagon or the path of the plane. The Memorial invites you to linger, to feel, and to think. We spoke... More

This is one of the more original concepts for a memorial and is very tasteful in its design. More

This memorial is very nicely presented. Take some time to look at the names and the date of birth. You can stop and sit on a bench if you would like. The volunteers there are very helpful. they all have great stories to tell. Make sure that you take some time to talk with them if they are there More

I worked across the street from this site for many years and can tell you that it is one of the best memorials of any kind I have seen. It is heavy on your heart and can be depressing, but most memorials are. The design of this is FANTASTIC and you can spend a lot of time understanding the design.... More

This was another moving memorial, and a reminder that any of us may be called upon to sacrifice at any point in time. The planes flying overhead were extraordinarily eerie when we visited September 12. The families had left, but the signs that they were there, and the soldiers in uniform taking pause moved me. Take note of the direction... More
