One of the hidden treasures around the austin area --> right off inside the city limits you have this park standing 100's of acres to nurture wildlife and flora/fauna. The Waterfalls is amazing usually visit after the "Texas shower time - May showers" where the whole park transforms into a lush green belt embracing every heart and mind within her.... More

Nice park close to downtown Austin. Generally flat hiking. A couple of decent waterfalls when it has been raining. Pedernales, Hamilton Pool, Enchanted Rock are all much better parks. More

So close to the city (35mi~) it would be silly not to take a trip out here every once and a while if you live here or if you are traveling through the hill country. Great campsites. Wear closed toed shoes to hike and maybe pants. Don't forget a hat and water. More

Being new to the Austin area, it still blows my mind to see this much water and "wilderness" so close to the city, and right by the airport. Went in October 2010, the weather was great for hiking. The trails and hiking "took my breath away". Atmosphere of nature all around creates a romantic & fun setting for couples! More
