This is a beautiful park situated just south of downtown Austin. Lots of wide open spaces for picnics, playing, etc. The park has two sides - the west side is located right next to the river and provides access to both the river and a running trail. The east side of the park includes the Barton Springs Pool. Highly recommend.

At the heart of the city is Zilker Park. Just off Town Lake, it encompasses Barton Springs Pool, soccer fields, sand volleyball and acreage of open grass for kites, kids, and coolers! People bring dogs and babies, radio controlled planes, footballs and frisbees, hula hoops and yoga mats to Zilker. The skyline of Austin is in the distance. This is... More

I had never been here before, just went on a whim, and now I wish I had planned a day of it. The springs look awesome, I can't wait to go one day. We ate our lunch at a picnic table that was just under a rocky cliff, awesome views. We also took the kids to the playground, which has... More

Other than the huge open space for relaxing, pic-nicing or just hanging with friends, there's access to an awesome lake for paddle boarding, canoeing, etc. There are load of trails for biking, running and walking. There is an amazing pool. You can spend an entire day exploring this park. It's awesome!

Overall a very unique and fun place to visit. Went to the botanical garden, the pool, and checked out the train. Would recommend train for kids and adults with kids but no so much for adults on their own.

Went there repeatedly. The botanical garden was very nice, and they have swans in the park. You can renta boat or bike; nice outdoor pastime.

The wee bugs love it and we feel like it is one of the cleanest parks I've ever been too! Really enjoy it and you will too. It's one of the first parks we've seen that features 'musical' instruments built in as toys. Awesome!

Traffic, no parking, dead grass and off-limits zones. The park has been loved to death unfortunately. I can only hope the City will consider turning the park back over for the enjoyment of residents and visitors instead of selling it out for special events.

Large park with a train that takes you around. Be aware that the train ride will shut down early if there aren't too many people around. The natural waters of the Barton Springs pool are wonderful. Its incredible to see a natural pool the size of more than two Olympic pools. Its just $3 apiece to walk down to the... More

I'm a photographer and love to capture the small world inside plants and flowers that most people don't see. Highly recommended.
