Wonderful, well worth the drive! It's inviting for just wandering and admiring the flowers. The cafe is also good.

Need to visit this place in spring time, wonderful layout of the garden, Texas varieties of plants and shrubs, relaxing atmosphere, a gem in and of Austin
For many years I have wanted to visit the Lady Bird Johnson Wildlife Center. I am so glad I finally make the time to enjoy this special place. This is a great place to learn about native Texan plants and get unusual gardening ideas.
The facilities are first rate, and the volunteers are very helpful. One of the volunteers Betsy...

While the grounds, buildings and cultivated vegetation are all well-planned and displayed here, the actual "wild" flower experience was nowhere to be found. It was early in the season when we went and we asked the 2 young guys at the ticket booth when the peak of the season was - they stated, "oh, right now, sir!" I only realized...

I love the idea of water conservation and the use of native plants in a natural environment. This is a great place to stroll through a variety of Texas native gardens and enjoy a less formal maintained grounds. They are big on rain water collection (I myself am a HUGE fan and use it for my own garden), and it...

The visitors' center information, photo displays of Lady Bird Johnson were interesting. The paths are nice to take a walk, and we could see a lot of potential, but many areas were more barren than we expected. We hope that current plans are realized and more plants and trees become established.
We were one Sunday morning. Lot of parking and several trails to walk in middle of the wild flowers. Good simple fair in the small restaurant at a low price. Spring is the best time to go: .
As a plant lover I enjoyed a chance to get to know the native plants of another part of the country. Very well laid out displays which we caught in April in all their blooming splendor. I would call this a "must do" for gardeners or artists looking for inspiration.
We lived here 4 years now and decided to visit the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. What a well kept facility! The spring flowers were at their best and all the other vegitation was so pretty. Every example of Texas Hill Country things were represented. Flowers, shrubs, cacti, ground covers, and succulents. Outside the manicured gardens are nice trails to...

There are a few demonstration gardens, but to really get the full experience walk the well maintained trails that range from 1/2 to 1 mile each. Pretty vistas of fields of wildflowers. When the weather is warm (or hot) go early in the day. Adult fee $9. There were school groups the day I went, but with so much space...
