The modest brick ranch home contains the original furnishings, photos, cars, guns and memorabilia of the Pusser family. Buford Pusser was the subject of several major motion pictures. The "Walking Tall" movies tell about his life and tragic death. « less

The movie disclaimer in "WALKING TALL" stated that the film was based on "certain events" in the life of Buford Pusser. What they didn't tell you was that the movie was mostly fictional. Unfortunately, the museum makes little effort clarify Sheriff Pusser's true story. There are a lot of Pusser artifacts and memorabilia in the museum, but very little to... More

Wife and I were a little leery of stopping, but had seen some signs and thought what the heck. Turned out to be worth the stop. Gentleman doing the tour couldn't have been nicer nor more sincere. Interesting history in that area. Pusser must have been an amazing individual. I'll have to re-watch the first two movies. It's worth the... More

Ever since I was about 7 or 8 years old I wanted to find out more about Buford Pusser. I can remember the exact theater where I saw the first "Walking Tall" so seeing this place brought back some good childhood memories. As a result I wanted my son to see and understand why I thought this man was important... More

Very enjoyable visit. I was lucky when I went as I was the only person there. The lady who guided me through was very thourogh and answered all my questions and help bring Buford to life for me. There was a lot to see and read about and takes you back to the days when Buford was Sheriff. I was... More

Most of you will already know that there is two sides to every story, while here at the museum and in the movies made about him, you'll receive one side, I suggest getting the other side. I always thought Buford hung the moon until I did my own research. That's all I'm telling you to do before you go praising... More

We traveled down to the museum and home of Buford Pusser. I must say that I was highly impressed and wanted to know more the more that I learned. The caretaker of the museum was highly knowledgeable and made it very interesting with each and every detail. What topped all of this off was I was told where one of... More

The Buford Pusser Home and Museum is a fitting tribute to and a repository of the artifacts of a man who never quite realized the legacy that he left. The modest ranch brick home, built in 1971 after a fire, reflects the simpleness and personality of a shy, quiet and generous man who by turn had little use for bullies... More
