I visited here one afternoon when I first moved to the area. There was not single person in the place and it was kind of run down. They needed to fix it up. The old steel bridge is great for pictures,but that is about it. Not much to see or look at. I think it could be nice and useful... More

Nice picnic tables under canopy of trees beside river. Red River certainly deserves it's name; it was extremely muddy and signs forbid swimming. A local told us it was due to water mocassins and three people had died there from snake bites. Restrooms had long been neglected. They had supplies but were very dirty. Port Royal SP is located in Adams, TN. The day use area consists of a picnic area, fishing, walking bridges, and canoe access. When you see the forks in the river, you’ll understand why this area was ideal for a trading community. There are damaged remnants of a covered bridge, but needless to say access is prohibited.
