My 2-year old son and I went to check it out last weekend. The fort is pretty interesting. There are lots of exhibits and the views are awesome. We learned that the local kite flyers meet every Sunday morning at 10:30 to put up some kites. It is wonderful to watch and if you have any kites fun to participate. The kite flyers and friendly and helpful and the winds good. It really is worth the trip even if you want to take in the historic fort after.

Staff was very informative on history of the Fort. Beautiful place. Definitely a place to check out if you're into history, artillery, old artifacts.

Great destination to visit in the Crystal Coast area, of NC. Wonderful state park, great fort to visit, watch a move on the fort, see civil war artifacts. Family friendly.

Excellent outing for he history buff &/or family activity. The fort has room displays of the various uses of the fort over 150 years. Even the 2 year old had fun. This is a great place to walk around and get some history of our country and the defense that was needed to protect our coast over the years.
