I didn'tb have much time to visit city in Ankara so I was wondering should I visit Ethnographic museum or Museum of Anadolian Civilisations. Scenes of 18th and 19th century life in Turkey are set up with complete rooms and authentically dressed mannequins. Very interesting and lively. The photos of Ataturk's funeral and interment in this building are wonderful. Also the cultural artifacts (pottery, wood, metal, book making, textiles) are fine examples. You can see all the ethnographic evaluation of seetlers of Ankara here.Also Ataturk was first buried here then transferred to moseleum. More

The displays are well signposted in English, with elaborately described scenes set up, ıt gives a good image of local traditions. But it's not very spectacular. 2nd biggest museum in Ankara after Anatolian Civilazations. This museum covers, later periods probably after 1200th or so. Lots of Etnographical material, carpets, textiles, nice displays. More
