Aging facilities. Poor accommodations for the animals. Seems like not much has been invested in the attractions in the past few years.

They are suppose to give the elephant to a reserve in Thailand. The conditions that the animals are kept in is HORRIBLE. There have been many International Animal groups trying to get the elephant moved. I realize many of the poor in the area enjoy the zoo on the weekend, but it is important that people give thought to the...

I have never been in a Zoo and walked out of it miserable. The condition of the animals here is very poor. I don't understand why they still continue to operate.
A master plan to rehabilitate & fully rennovate this once-famed establishment should be in the works. When do we start?Just visit the place and see the rubbish and neglect and our uncaring feeling to the beasts and other inhabitants of this forsaken place.
There are cute animals around that would keep you awed but then there are still corrals that make you pity the animals encased in them. The lagoon looks slimy yet there are fishes that abound there.

depressing and sad. the animals are not given the proper accommodation & care to live happy lives. unacceptable. i don't think these animals would ever treat one another as poorly as us "evolved & highly intelligent" humans do. which makes us wonder, who are the real animals?
Obviously, the place lacks proper maintenance. The animals there gets fewer as time goes by and some were old already. They should just bring the animals back to their respective sanctuaries.
I love birds... and so happy to see them as beautiful as they were. Good for vacationers like us ..helps us unwind...and thank God for his creation.
I noticed you had this so listed as a great location. It isn't it is an awful place. The animals are not well taken care of and they have the saddest elephant in the world there. This poor elephant has spent 36 years of it's life alone in a dingy concrete enclosure. Terrible my advise to any one is don't...

This place is scary to walk around. (Sinkholes, exposed catch basins, uneven broken concrete). Watch where you walk. The animals all seem like they're dying from malnutrition. the alligators were the worst. they all seemed dead or near death. The elephant is definitely a sad creature. The zoo allows street vendors to line up along certain stretches of the park....
