Well worth the fee. Excellent tour guides, good food on the buffet, and a great snapshot of history.
My visit here was actually earlier than 2011, but it was a memorial one. (No pun intended.) This island is a quick and enjoyable fast boat ride from Manila. It is very meaningful to those who have studied US History, especially the Pacific arena of WW2. See the massive gun emplacements and the underground tunnels.
A place I have wanted to visit for many years. it did not disappoint in any way. Sun Tours did a great job. For the visit, saw many places I have seen in films on a tour conducted by a very knowledgeable guide. Excellent lunch provided as part of the tour. For enthusiasts of American and Filipino military history, this... More

Went for a visit to Corregidor Island with my husband's family. I had no idea what it was about except that it was a former military base of some sorts. Being that we grew up in the US, it was more interesting for us than for others who have no connection at all. The monuments, old bomb shelters, and cannons... More
A visit to Corregidor Island makes an interesting and fun daytrip or even an overnight stay. The ferry ride to/from the island makes it more fun too. Going around the island while listening to the tour guide and watching the light and sound show give an interesting lesson about the country's history!
I took the Sun Tours tour, which you can book online in advance. The Ferry is fast and comfortable. The tour is given by very knowledgeable guides and you ride in open trolleys to the various sites on the island. While not everything has been restored, there is enough to give you a feel for what the island might have... More
This is highly recommended for tourists who only have one-day to enjoy Manila. Package tour starts with a boat trip at 7 am from PICC Complex in Manila. Very engaging and informative tourist guides on open buses await you with stories about World War II history. Then you're back by 4pm to enjoy the sunset in nearby Roxas Boulevard.
