I never knew about this until my tour guide suggested.. Sad to see a huge cemetery, courtesy world war 2.. The place is well maintained and was really upset in a way to see so many plaques in memory of soldiers.. wish there will be no more wars... More

No matter what time of year you visit the American Cemetery, the grass is always well kept as well as the tomb markers. In the probably thousands of markers there, we were able to locate the burial site of an uncle who was buried there about 20 years ago. The security is very strict about not stepping on the grass... The American Cemetery is a place any American should visit if in Manila. It is a well manicured burial place of thousands of mostly young men who gave their lives for their country in WWII. There are murals showing major campaigns of the war in the pacific. You can spend a long time there going through and learning about the... More

The cemetery is a quiet green space amidst skyscrapers and a fitting tribute to those who sacrificed the full measure of devotion that Asia might be free. The memorial provides a graphic depiction through maps of World War II in the Pacific offering excellent detail for those who served and sacrificed there and for their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren... It's simply a cemetery with uniformed white crosses. What I like about it is that it's solemn and peaceful. Perfect if you want to reflect or pray. More
