It's been quite a while since I was in the vicinity of Malate, so might as well attend a mass at Malate Church. Currently the church is undergoing some minor renovation. It is centrally located within Malate Area. A blessed way to visit before the tour starts. More

The Malate Church looks old, really old. The stone work is worn and the sculptures are barely recognisable. The building is a lovely church, and in its’ heyday it must have been amazing. Lots of beautiful stonework, with bricked arches and columns. Right now it is not much to see, but hopefully after the renovations, Malate Church can be rejuvenated... More

This is one of the oldest churches in Manila...really cool if you're the type who wants to visit historical places....this is one of them. The thing I don't like much about this church though, is that it could use more ventilation. More

to disappointing the restoration is just to demeaning when you restore an old churh you dont cover the building with cement and cover its artistic design of stone restoration is a process of beautifying and bringing the building to its original old glorious look not modernizing its appearance sick!!!! One of the oldest buildings in Manila, the Malate Church dates from the late 1500's. Great location near Manila Bay, Sulayman Park and Remedios Circle. More
