We went to the Batu Caves by taking the train from KL Sentral and the last stop is Batu caves. You can walk from the train station to the caves which is very close, you don't need to catch a taxi. It was worth the trip. There are a couple of Indian temples at the bottom of the steps which... More

Went there for a photoshoot session with a friend. Great place, easy to find. Its a place of worship for Hindus. There stood the tallest statue of Lord Shiva which can be seen from the highway. However, there are lots of wild monkeys that can be agressive at times. Just watch out of them when you are there. More

The Hindu temple and ornate shrines set inside the limestone caves are beautiful and interesting. I was a bit wary of the monkeys roaming around, but as long as you don't provoke them or carry any plastic bags with you I was told (bags are thought of as food apparently), you should be fine. More

We caught the train to Batu Caves (from KL Central RM2) one afternoon when at a loss for something to do. Yes the steps were challenging but certainly not insurmountable. All in all a pleasant way to spend an afternoon but nothing special. More

Used Tour 51 for a trip to the Batu Caves. Coach presenter was very informative not only on the attractions along the way eg. Royal Selangor Pewter and batik factory but also about life in Kuala Lumpur. Loved the tour, however if possible try and pick a cooler day as you need to walk up 272 stairs. More

Went in May, a hot day to climb the 272 stairs! Full of wild monkeys stealing sweets etc. Beautiful ceremonies inside the caves but full of tourist tat stalls just before you enter it, which can be off putting. More

Dark caves at batu is a year old program aimed at educating people on conservation of limestone formations - which we were told takes 75-100 years to form an inch of limestone. You have to buy tickets and a well informed young lady guide julie took us deep into the caves for about 500 meters. She explained the complete ecosystem,... More
