We visited the Osaka Museum of Housing and Living and were really pleasantly surprised. I've seen a few reproduction Japanese museums but this one shows more shops etc and it was really interesting. Lots of things to look at and compare to how they are done now. The lighting and sounds change with the times of the day as guests...

This museum is a vivid and interactive museum! It has a lifesize village of Osaka in the Edo-time. Visitors can borrow a yukata (kimono) and explore the secrets of the town. The time of day changes and when night falls, be ready for a surprise!
The location is relatively close to Osaka station, and it's easy to find.
