This was an amazing place - definitely a highlight of our trip. We didn't even realize the bronze chariots were there, or that there are two other buildings of excavations - another one with soldiers, and the headquarters. Really fantastic! Also has a pretty good gift shop, and we were fortunate enough to be there when the man that discovered... More

Quite a bit of English is written here so you can easily spend 3 hours even without a guide. You will repeatedly asked if you want a guide as you arrive -- be prepared with your answer. Best to pay the few extra yuan and ride the little electric cart or you must walk a kilometer through a street of... More

First I need to say we went Sept. 2010 not 2011 but couldn't put that date in, I am a little late reviewing this awesome sight. Our only regret in regards to our visit to the warriors was that it wasn't long enough (we were on a great organised tour and were on a time frame). However, despite this the... More

My husband and I travelled to China last year. We visited the Great Wall, the Terra-Cotta Warriors & went for a cruise down the Yangtze River. We started in Bejing and ended up in Shanghai. What an amazing trip it was. Our favourite site was the Terra Cotta Warriors. It is really spectacular and looks just like all the pictures... More

Worth checking out if you're in or can easily make it to Xi'an. Overall though it is somewhat disappointing. Not that many full soldiers, but more of an active archeological site with lots of pieces. It is really cool and fascinating, just don't expect too much. More

Loved the history, the ability to walk at a good pace, and the fact that you could see it all in less than two hours. Did NOT like the fact that the museums or not heated in the winter...it was FREEZING cold. More

Stunning and magnificent! This is a prime spot if you go to Xi'an. The pits were highly maintained. The security is pretty tight though. Bring extra ID card with you apart from your passport. Sometimes, the guards ask more IDs. More

I would suggest you just walk around by yourselves rather than joining a group as they travel at a snails pass & spend a hugh amount of time standing around in the searing heat. We just walked around by ourselves & managed to hear a few bits of info from english guides as we wandered around. Even if you don't... More
