If you love history or want to learn more about Guangzhou's history then this museum, close to the Yuexiu Park Metro station, is fantastic. It's free but to get your ticket you need your passport. There's lots of great artifacts and recreations as well as the remains of a tomb under the glass pyramid. I think it's one of the... More

It was a cheap priced and interesting museum. Enjoyed the African exhibition because you could shoot bows and arrows in the kiddy section. As for the tomb itself it was empty except for some sprinkles (powered remains) of one of his concubines but most of the stuff that was there was placed inside the very frigid museum. Bring a coat

The museum blends well with the surrounding neigbourhood. You could easily miss the building in this rather residential area. The museum was built on the hill where the 2000 years old mausoleum was unearthed. The display and presentation of the discovery is both high tech and well laid out. Stunning !

This mausoleum, situated in Jie Fang Bei Road in Guangzhou near the Yue Xiu Park is not easy to find. It was discovered in 1983 while digging for new residence buildings. That museum displays the site of king Nan Yue's tomb and all the artifacts excavated at the time of its discovery including a jade shroud sewn with silk thread,... More

I've been to the Tomb of the Nanyue King three times and enjoyed it each time. It was redone a few years ago and all the English signs are excellent and easy to understand, and provide lots of detailed information on the exhibits. If there's one museum to visit, this is it!

Positif : A place to learn history in Nanyue period. Don't forget to allocate time to watch and learn video in the museum to know the history of The Nanyue King. Negatif : Can't take photo in the some place around the museum

Very easy to find this. Subway blue line and then stop at Yuexiu park. Walk for 1 minute. Almost all text is in english too so very intresting to read about the finding. For some few yen you get an audio to listen to. You can enter the actual tomb which was really amazing. Never done that before. When I... More

NIce place to visit and you can do this together with the Yuexiu park. If you are into museum, this is not bad a place to visit. Quite a fair amount of exhibits from the tomb. After the visit, you can just cross over the road and do the Yuexiu park. Within Quexiu park, there is another museum, the Five... More

a modern and fascinating museum which features a local king at a time when Guangdong was adopting Han Chinese culture as imported a generation earlier by Qin Shihuangdi. The tomb is in the middle of town, easy to reach and has a nice shop. In addition, when you first enter - there is a Chinese art exhibit. Currently it's Tang-era... More

This museum is built around a mausoleum from circa 200 BC, discovered by accident in the 1980s when they were clearing land for a new apartment complex. Fortunately, the plans for the apartment complex were abandoned, and the tomb was left intact, its contents removed for preservation and presentation to the public in the adjoining museum. The tomb and the... More
