Seating in the theater for this show is not tiered, so unless you are in front row, or in the very back and can stand, it is very hard to see. The show itself proved to be somewhat repetitive. This is one of those performances that draws all the tour/cruise crowds... the type of place we try to avoid. But being our first visit to Russia we wanted to experience some of the culture (even if it's not identifiable with the city of St Petersburg). Alas! If I had only taken the time to learn enough Russian to get by I would not have been such a babe in the woods . I am enamoured of Russia. Next time--and there will be a next time--I will take a small course in learning the language. It would have enriched this trip 200%. More

The palace is beautiful, the costumes are gorgeous, the dancing is wonderful, the music enjoyable -- a fully satisfying tourist entertainment show and historic palace site. More

If you visit St Petersburg make sure you go to the concert Feel Yourself Russian. folk dances and songs - great music, light-hearted, entertaining cast. They serve vodka with caviar at interval and it's in the old Nikolaevsky palace - very atmospheric.
