One of Stalin's 'Seven Sister' buildings, MGU is a very impressive piece of Soviet architecture set on the top of Sparrow Hills. Get the metro to Vorob'jovy Gory, walk up through the nature reserve to the top of the hill and you'll have Moscow sprawled out behind you and the university in front. A great afternoon's walking.

A group of us walked to MGU from our house. The archetecture is marvelous, but there isn't much to do in that area. We did end up getting MGU sweatshirts, but they cost double if they are in Russian instead of English. Odd!

Not only the first and the best but also the biggest one. For people who studied there (as for me) the main place in Moscow. Excellent location, beautiful main building and green park around makes Moscow state University territory one of the favorite places for all.

Lomonosov Moscow State University : This beautiful and prestigious University in Moscow, MGU, is very large and it has an excellent reputation.

I have not been into the building, but just to go there and look at it is amazing. Great architectural piece to take pictures of in the evening. Besides that ni front of the University is a point from where you have a view all over Moscow, beautiful, but prepare if you go there in Winter, it gets quite windy... More

I think the building is perfectly made and the place which was choosed for it suits wonderfully. It looks strong and powerful like foundation of Russian education. It is impossible to enter inside but it is enought to see it nearby

This location and the sheer size of the building on top of the hills above Moscow is so impressive, that one wants to apply to go to this institution just to say you'd gone there. What a great place to attend college!
