The Leyte Landing Memorial is a historical place where Gen Douglas McArthur landed and have said "I Shall Return.." Its true that he return to liberate the Philippines. My first impression when i reached the place was it was like Luneta park in Manila only smaller but nice and clean.THe park (bermuda-covered lawn) was well kept. and manicured.Yonder is the sea,once the scene of a great battle, now peaceful and tranquil,Altho there's a beach nearby, nobody is swimming because it's dangerously deep.It's kinda lonely out there. only few... The landing site memorial is a little underwhelming. There is very little there except for the statues of McAuthur and his men. The site has not been well maintained. There is parkland around the monument so if I guess if you packed a lunch you could make the trip to see the monument combines with a picnic. More
