I was so disappointed that they don't allow tourists taking pictures inside the museum. You have no choice but listen to the museum's staff going through some stories about the history of Davao. Expect that the only souvenirs you will get are pictures outside the museum. :( More

Just a stones throw from the Magallanes Residences Condominium buildings this older building offered excellent history of the early days in Davao. Take your time and really soak up the experience of how the early Filipinos lived. More

This Museum, although fairly small, is a mine of information regarding history of Mindanao. This info is usually rather difficult to come by. I appreciated also the BW photos from past times showing how the Davao was. There are interesting comments about middle age contacts between Phils and China. It's about 150p taxi ride from js mall,make sure you get the cab to go inside insular village 1 as ours though he was dropping us off at the museum outside the village until we asked someone standing nearby and they told us the location.if your timing your excursion you only need about 40min for the museum that is reading... More

I actually visisted in February 2009. I couldn't choose a date that far back in the past. The musuem is only two floors but you will learn about a great deal about the culture, the traditional homes and the indigenous tribes. It is highly recommended.
