I really enjoyed my visit to this museum. Like other reviewers I thought the explanation of how the Chinese came to Sarawak and their different roles in the community was very well done. I enjoyed the big wall map of present day Kuching which marks Chinese businesses. It was fun to walk down Carpenter Street and realise that many of... More

A very small but interesting museum. Another good use of an old building. Helped me understand how different the Chinese dialects and peoples are. How hard they all worked to gain a better life!

It's a small room, just nice for a half hour cool respite from the heat. It gives an interesting insight into the culture of the Chinese settlers

It is easy to find, being right near the waterfront. The air conditioning there will give you some respite if you have been walking around in the hot and humid outside. Entrance is free, and though small, provides sufficient interesting insight of the respective Chinese clans in Sarawak. The voice recordings of the different dialects are also pretty entertaining !

This is a relatively compact museum situated on Kuching Waterfront. It illustrates nicely the history of the movement of the Chinese into Borneo. There are some interesting exhibits as well as many informative wall charts and maps all with English text as well as Chinese

Situated just off the waterfront this is small museum displaying the history of the Chinese in Kuching. Quite interesting and well laid out. Some good displays and audio visuals. Worth a visit just to enjoy the air conditioning and escape the humidity for a while. Also explains from where the different Chinese arrived from and how they contributed to the... More

This small museum is well worth a visit - you can pop in from your stroll along the waterfront and spend twenty minutes learning about the various Chinese populations in Sarawak, their history, culture and traditions. The displays are very informative and well presented. In fact, I much preferred this to the main Sarawak museum.

Nice little museum by the river. Compact with a nice display of the early Chinese in Sarawak. Some family histories and a nice explanation of some of the holidays. A few artifacts and photos of the early years. Free to enter and a nice place to duck in out of the heat or rain. Worth a visit.

Entrance to this museum is free, but it is definitely worth a visit. History of Chinese migrating to settle in Sarawak is well documented and illustrated. The displays with many artifacts and utensils are varied and very informative, providing much information on the past and current life and culture of the lively and large Chinese presence in Kuching. Being relatively... More
